Holstein releases list of bulls - Carriers (BY) of Brachyspina

The Holstein Association USA board of directors voted at their March 2011 meeting to label Brachyspina as an undesirable recessive trait in the Holstein breed. Red & White Grand Champion named in Richmond

Lake-Prairie Advent Ava-Red was named Grand Champion of the Red & White Show held in conjunction with the Western Spring National. Ava is owned by Westcoast Holsteins. Judge Heath named the aged cow, Renown Raymond Gretchen-Red, as Reserve Grand Champion Red & White.

Champions named at Western Spring National

The 2011 Western Spring National Holstein Show concluded today with Judge Michael Heath naming the winning five-year-old, Blayjoy Jasper Mallory, as senior and grand champion of the show. Mallory is owned by Westcoast Holsteins, Chilliwack, BC. The winning four-year-old was selected as reserve senior champion and reserve grand champion of the show Ruann Lassiter Anna 70651 exhibited by Maddox and Van Exel.


Judge Heath selected the winnning junior two-year-old, Doubletree Effort Kate, exhibited by Doubletree Dairy. The winning senior two-year-old, Crasdale Jasper Lucky, was named reserve intermediate champion and was the exhibit of Joey Airosa.

Ziem-Barb-Way classification update!

OCD Planet Diamond classified VG-87 w/VG-87 mam and has now been sold to Claynook Holsteins, Ontario, Canada. SRF-ZBW TS Louana classified EX-92 (max score) w/ 94 mam. She is now owned by Jean-Dominic Caron, Quebec, Canada. Both cows were pictured on Saturday and new pictures will be available soon.

R&W Junior Champions - Western Spring Show

Westcoast Holsteins, Chilliwack, BC took home top honors in heifer portion of the Red & White Western Spring Show. Ms Joleanna S Auburn-Red-ET the winning spring yearling was named junior champion and is a Gen-I-Beq Sahara daughter. The winning winter yearling, Woodfield Royce Donalyn sired by Sterndale Rose Royce-Red-ET took home reserve honors and honorable mention went to the second spring yearling, Jerland Get Me There-Red, sired by Fradon Redliner. All there heifers were owned and exhibited by Westcoast Holsteins.
