Holstein Association Award Applications Available!
Holstein Association USA offers several awards to recognize outstanding achievements of members and their work with Registered Holstein cattle. Applications for the Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder, Elite Breeder, and Distinguished Leadership Award are due to the Holstein Association USA office by February 28, 2013, and are available at www.holsteinusa.com.
Gillette Visions averages $11,900
A fantastic sale from the team at La Ferme Gillette concluded on Friday, Sept. 21 with an average of $11,900 on over 100 head. Top seller of the sale at $131,000 was Ralma-RH Manoman Banjo VG-88-2YR-CAN (Man-O-Man x Goldwyn Clarinet EX-90) and sold to Morsan Farms. Second high seller at $48,000 was Misty Springs MOM Satin VG-86-2YR (Man-O-Man x Shottle Satin VG-86-2YR-CAN) and was purchased by Genervations and Mapel Wood Farms. At $43,000 and the third high seller was Lot 1, Gillette S Planet 2nd Snooze VG-86-2YR-CAN (Planet x Bolton 2nd Sleep) successfully purchased by Ferme Maryclerc with Gillette retaining part interest.

Judge Chad Ryan named the winning fall yearling, Whitdale-D Hvezda Sky-Red (Hvezda x Whitdale-D Advent Skylight EX-90), owned by Chris & Jen Hill, Richard M. Green, Sr. and Chad Umbel junior champion of the 2012 All-American Red & White Show. Reserve junior champion honors went to the winning winter yearling, Gleneil Stirl Bo Double-Red (Sterling x Gleneil Talent Bo Dusty EX-90 2E) owned by Laura Emerson.
Goldwyn x Licorice named Intermediate Champion!
Savage-Leigh Gold Lona-ET EX-90 the Goldwyn daughter direct from LICORICE was just named first place senior three-year-old and intermediate champion of the 2012 Eastern Fall National Show. Congratulations to Chip Savage, Savage-Leigh, Union Bridge, MD.
Junior Champions named at Eastern Fall National!
Judge Mark Rueth named first place fall calf, Md-Dun-Loafin Lauth Ellie-ET, owned by David Dyment and Michael Heath of Westminster, MD as junior champion of the 2012 Eastern Fall National Holstein Show! Reserve junior champion went to the first place winter yearling, Springway Sassy Rae, owned by Colton Thomas, Cole and Olivia Cummings of Westminster, MD. Honorable mention was the second place winter yearling, Sweet-Peas Asteroid Amber owned by Lloyd and Denis Pease of Susquehanna, PA.
Grand Champion of All-American Red & White Show
Grand Champion of the 2012 All-American Red & White Show went to the winning junior two-year-old and intermediate champion, Ms Glad Ray Morefun-Red owned by Cooper Galton of Nunda, NY. Morefun-Red is a Contender daughter of Greenlea Redliner Mi-Red-ET VG-85. Reserve grand champion was awarded to the first place senior two-year-old and reserve intermediate champion, Rob-Sara Rustler Tina B-Red owned by Laura Emerson of Middletown, DE. Tina B-Red is the VG-87 Rustler granddaughter of 2x All-American Ridle-Side Ranger Tina-Red EX-91. Congratulations exhibitors!
