New addition to Eastside Holsteins
Gillette Epic Jingle DVG +3768 and GTPI+2317 will have a new home at Eastside Holsteins following the Gillette Visions Sale. Jingle was the highest genomic animal in the sale and sold for $26,500 to Eastside and Lewisdale Holsteins. She is from the VG-86 Shottle maternal sister to JORDAN followed by Gillette Durham Jericho EX 15*.
Holstein Association Award Applications Available!
Holstein Association USA offers several awards to recognize outstanding achievements of members and their work with Registered Holstein cattle. Applications for the Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder, Elite Breeder, and Distinguished Leadership Award are due to the Holstein Association USA office by February 28, 2013, and are available at www.holsteinusa.com.
Gillette Visions averages $11,900
A fantastic sale from the team at La Ferme Gillette concluded on Friday, Sept. 21 with an average of $11,900 on over 100 head. Top seller of the sale at $131,000 was Ralma-RH Manoman Banjo VG-88-2YR-CAN (Man-O-Man x Goldwyn Clarinet EX-90) and sold to Morsan Farms. Second high seller at $48,000 was Misty Springs MOM Satin VG-86-2YR (Man-O-Man x Shottle Satin VG-86-2YR-CAN) and was purchased by Genervations and Mapel Wood Farms. At $43,000 and the third high seller was Lot 1, Gillette S Planet 2nd Snooze VG-86-2YR-CAN (Planet x Bolton 2nd Sleep) successfully purchased by Ferme Maryclerc with Gillette retaining part interest.
