Scientific hosts Wisconsin State Holstein Picnic
It was a beautiful Saturday and the Nunes family of Scientific Holsteins went above and beyond to host a great event at their farm with food, fellowship and great Holstein cows. The picnic included an open barn highlighted by the tremendous Debutante Rae daughters on display, a judging contest, picnic lunch and games for all ages. A huge thank you to Scientific Holsteins for their hospitality and opening up their farm to Holstein enthusiasts for this fantastic event!
Ferme Jacobs named Premier Breeder at Expo Quebec
Congratulations to Ferme Jacobs on being named Premier Breeder at Expo Quebec 2011. The Jacobs family also won the Breeder's Herd and had the top three individuals in the four-year-old class with Jacobs Goldwyn Britany, Jacobs Goldwyn Emory and Crasdale Dundee Liza, respectively.
Ziem-Barb-Way takes home top honors at NY State Fair R&W Show
Vermillion Dstrgn Spring-Red was recently named Grand Champion of the NY State Fair Red & White Show. Spring is owned by the Ziembas and was also the winnning aged cow. Taking home the second highest honors, Reserve Grand Champion, of the day was Windsor-Manor Ruby-Red-ET, the winning senior three-year old also owned by Ziem-Barb-Way.
World Dairy Expo Entry Deadline Closes
WORLD DAIRY EXPO EARLY ENTRY DEADLINE CLOSES THURSDAY AT MIDNIGHT
Cattle exhibitors wishing to compete at World Dairy Expo 2011 should log on to World Dairy Expo website now and submit their entries. According to Dairy Cattle Show Manager, Laura Herschleb, entry fees will increase at midnight (CDT) on Thursday, September 1. Paper applications must also be postmarked by that date to avoid late entry fees. Animals may still be entered after September 1 and until check-in for the show. Late entries made between September 2 and September 6 may be made online or by paper at $50 per animal. After September 6, all late entries must be submitted on paper entry form at a cost of $100 per animal.
