New Genetic Evaluations for Milking Speed
Now that Milking Speed will be a trait breeders can select on, breeders can expect a major improvement in their parlor once their newly selected matings begin calving in. From overall efficiency to particular pen grouping, there are many ways that selecting for MSPD will improve your herd.
What to Expect for Calving Ease Base Change in August 2025:
In April 2025, the dairy industry had a proof run that brought many significant changes because of the new base change. One area that did not see adjustments in April was Calving Ease. Now that the August proofs are quickly approaching, the CDCB has released what we can expect when it comes to Calving Ease.
International Intrigue Sale Leaves Dairy Industry Star Stuck
The International Intrigue Sale took place on July 2, 2025, at Butlerview Farm in Chebanse, IL, where 173 lots graced the ring. Auctioneers Adam Fraley and Pierre Boulet struck off 171 of those lots for a grand total of $4,307,350, leading to a whopping average of $25,189 per lot!
