Lang donates to Children's Hospital
Eric and Nicole Lang of Brooklyn, Iowa, donated $20,000 to the recently completed Stead Children's Hospital at the University of Iowa. This donation resulted from an announcement during a public auction the Fun in the West Sale, Paso Robles, California.
When auctioneer David Rama had $31,000 bid on the calf, Mr. Lang announced that every dollar bid from that point forward would be contributed to the Stead hospital on behalf of Ana Rauen, daughter of Holstein breeders Bill and Molly Rauen of Farley, Iowa. Ana had been a recent patient at Stead and was discharged with a good prognosis.
Bids on the calf progressed to $51,000 when is was struck off to ST Genetics of Texas. Mr. and Mrs, Rama also contributed their sales commission on the contributed amount to the hospital, as well.
