Nominees named for 2012 Cow of the Year


To begin the New Year, Holstein Canada is pleased to announce the four nominees who have been selected to compete for the coveted Holstein Canada Cow of the Year award. The inaugural award began in 1995 and since, annually recognizes achievements of four cows who compete to win the title of Cow of the Year. These nominees are  Canadian-bred;  showcase longevity, production, genetic merit, strength of pedigree; and are a great Ambassador of Canadian genetics.  Nominations were sought in late fall  2012 and the Cow of the Year  Selection Committee recently chose four finalists who will vie for the prestigious title.

The four nominees selected for the 2012 Cow of the Year competition are as follows:
