International Intrigue Results
The International Intrigue Sale lived up to the excitement and success the sale has been noted for. This year's sale was hosted by Len & Tracey Vis of Mapel Wood Farms, Jerseyville, Ont. and managed by Butler-Fellers Auctions Inc. After 116 lots had crossed the sale ring shavings the unofficial sale average was of $16,758 on a gross of $1,943,900. The Sale was attended by breeders from Canada, the U.S. and many countries from around the world giving the sale a true international appeal.
The top selling animal was Misty Springs M O M Seraphyne, garnering a bid of $84,000 from Lookout Holsteins, Canton-de-Hatley, Quebec and Marita Holsteins Int'l, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Seraphyne a Man O Man daughter with a +3406 GPA LPI is an April 2010 calf that was consigned by T & L Cattle Ltd. Rosedale, B.C. The dam of Seraphyne is a VG 86 Shottle that is the number 6 GLPI Cow in Canada at +3149 and completes 10 generations of VG or EX females in the Splender family.
The second highest lot was the first choice of a Goldwyn or Domain heifer calf due next year from Ms Atlee Shottle Aubrey-ET, the Shottle 2 year old from Durham Atlee that has been causing a lot of stir in recent months. She was purchased by Frank & Diane Borba, Modesto, CA and was consigned by Morsan Farms Ltd, Ponoka, AB and Jeff Butler, Chebanse, IL
T & L Cattle, Ltd reinvested $66,000 into the first choice of a Robust heifer calf to be born next March from, the two-time All-American and once All-Canadian, Eastside Lewisdale Gold Missy, VG-89, that was consigned by Morsan Farms.
The 4th high selling lot came from the renown and noted Regancrest S Chassity-ET. Her first choice Goldwyn female due to be born next March was selected by Glaz-Way Enterprises, of California for $60,000. The first choice was consigned by the Chassity Syndicate, Chebanse, IL.
